This Brazilian man was a student of mine, then a consulting client.  His second feature, ANYONE OUT THERE, has been having remarkable success at international film festivals.

Here are a few of his victories:
WINNER: Curator´s Choice – Boston Latino International Film Festival at Harvard University
WINNER: GOLD AWARD – California Film Awards
WINNER: Director’s Choice:  Humanitarian Award – Sedona International FIlm Festival
WINNER: Best Feature Award – Logan International Film Festival

Official Selection: Beloit International FIlm Festival
Official Selection: Fargo International Film Festival

Because of his travel schedule, he asked me to accept the award for him at the California Film Awards!

Now, I’ve been asked by Tiara to co-star in his next feature, to be shot in Brazil this summer.  It’s a VERY tasty script about a current hot topic.  More on this later!

This wonderful short film features some truly excellent child actors.  It’s an extremely sweet tale showing that basic goodness can win!

The picture showed at the San Diego Latino Film Festival; is a nominee at the College Television Awards (Student Emmy’s); and was recently accepted at the 2013 Cannes Court Métrage Short Film Corner. Alos, Cardboard Camera got selected at the Sacramento International Film Festival.

Carlo was kind enough to send me a note saying:  You were truly instrumental in the making of this movie, and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for guiding me out through the filmmaking process and being such a generous mentor. It was truly hard to make this short film, but your tools and advice gave me confidence to move forward and finish it. I couldn’t have done this movie without you.

–Thank you, Carlo!

Finally, over the Holidays, I participated in a Film Convention on a cruise ship, and, in addition to giving a number of lectures about producing and directing, we broke into groups of seven people, each group made a short film in 48 hours.  The common assignment (given by yours truly) was:  create an emotion.

Here’s the result of my group’s work –
